What Is NOCO?

NOCO makes battery charging, jump-starting, power, storage, and roadside equipment. RoveSpec currently focuses on portable jump starters, portable and onboard battery chargers, commercial battery boxes, and portable inflation products.

The correct NOCO product begins with the job: emergency engine starting, routine battery charging and maintenance, permanent multi-bank charging, air inflation, or physical battery containment. Peak current, charging current, bank count, battery voltage and chemistry, enclosure, cables, and environment are separate selection variables.

How Should You Choose a NOCO Product?

Choose the NOCO family first, then match the exact battery, engine, bank count, charging current, installation environment, and manufacturer part number. A larger number in a title does not make unlike product families interchangeable.

What Is the Difference Between NOCO Boost and Boost X?

Boost and Boost X are portable lithium jump-starter families, but they use different model ranges, charging interfaces, accessories, controls, and operating instructions. Select by the exact supported battery voltage and engine guidance, not peak-current number alone.

RoveSpec carries GB-series Boost models and GBX-series Boost X models. NOCO describes Boost X as its newer fast-charging family with USB-C Power Delivery on represented models. The correct clamps, case, charger, eyelet adapter, timeout behavior, and support procedure remain model-specific.

How Should a NOCO Jump Starter Be Sized?

Match a NOCO jump starter to the vehicle’s nominal battery voltage and NOCO’s exact gasoline or diesel engine guidance for that model. Also account for battery condition, temperature, connection access, state of charge, cable reach, and recharge readiness.

Peak amperage is a product identifier, not a universal promise that every engine or battery condition can be started. Confirm the current NOCO product page and user guide for the exact model. Do not use a 12-volt-only unit on an unsupported voltage system.

06/17

What Are NOCO Genius Battery Chargers?

NOCO Genius products are portable battery chargers and maintainers. Choose by battery voltage, chemistry, capacity, desired charging current, number of banks, installation style, and the charging modes explicitly supported by the exact model.

The RoveSpec catalog includes single-output Genius chargers, a direct-mount model, and multi-bank Genius configurations. A charging mode changes how the charger treats the battery; select it from the battery manufacturer’s requirements and the NOCO manual rather than guessing from battery appearance.

  • Confirm nominal battery voltage before connecting the charger.
  • Confirm that the exact charging mode supports the stated battery chemistry.
  • Use repair or force modes only when the exact manual permits them and their risks are understood.
  • Do not treat a maintainer as a substitute for diagnosing a failed battery or charging system.

07/17

How Do NOCO GEN and GENPRO Onboard Chargers Differ?

GEN and GENPRO are permanently mounted onboard charger families offered in different bank counts and charging current per bank. The correct model must provide one independently controlled bank for each battery being charged and must support every connected battery’s voltage and chemistry.

RoveSpec carries GEN5X models and higher-current GENPRO10X models. A product title’s total amperage is divided across its stated bank configuration; it should not be read as the current delivered to every bank. Verify AC input, fuse and cable details, mounting, ventilation, ignition protection, ingress rating, and battery-mode instructions on the exact page and manual.

08/17

How Should NOCO Charging Modes Be Selected?

Select a NOCO charging mode only when its voltage and charging profile match the connected battery manufacturer’s requirements. Normal lead-acid, AGM, lithium, repair, and force modes are not interchangeable labels.

Disconnect or isolate loads when required by the charger and equipment manuals. Lithium modes require a compatible lithium battery and battery-management system. Repair modes are specialized recovery cycles, not routine maintenance, and cannot restore every damaged or end-of-life battery.

09/17

What Is the Difference Between NOCO Boost Air and AIR Inflators?

Boost Air combines jump-starting and tire inflation in one represented model, while AIR products focus on portable inflation. Choose by tire pressure and volume, airflow, duty instructions, hose and power configuration, supported tire size, adapters, and whether jump-start capability is required.

RoveSpec carries the AX65 Boost Air and AIR20 inflator. Their names and numerical ratings describe different performance fields; do not compare peak jump-start current with compressor airflow or maximum pressure as though they were the same measure.

10/17

How Should a NOCO HM Battery Box Be Selected?

Match the exact HM battery box to the battery group size, number of batteries, terminal and cable layout, mounting surface, ventilation plan, environment, and applicable marine, RV, vehicle, or equipment requirements.

RoveSpec carries boxes for Group 4D, Group 8D, and dual 6-volt arrangements. A group label is a dimensional starting point, not proof that every battery, cable bend, terminal cover, hold-down, or compartment will fit. Compare the exact battery drawing with the exact box drawing before purchase.

11/17

How Should NOCO Fitment and Sizing Be Verified?

Most current RoveSpec NOCO products are not vehicle-specific, but electrical and physical compatibility still must be verified against the exact battery, engine, bank arrangement, tire, compartment, and power source.

  • Match nominal system voltage before connecting a jump starter or charger.
  • Match the exact battery chemistry and charging mode.
  • For jump starters, use NOCO’s model-specific gasoline and diesel engine guidance.
  • For onboard chargers, provide one correct bank per battery and verify current per bank.
  • For battery boxes, compare battery and box dimensions, terminals, cable exits, hold-downs, and ventilation.
  • For inflators, verify tire pressure, tire volume, duty cycle, hose reach, valve, and adapters.

12/17

Why Do Exact NOCO Part Numbers Matter?

NOCO accessories and replacement parts are tied to specific product families and often to exact models. GB, GBX, Genius, GEN, GENPRO, Boost Air, and AIR parts should not be cross-matched from connector appearance alone.

Confirm the complete NOCO model number on the unit, the accessory compatibility list, charging connector, electrical rating, cable construction, and current product support page. A compatible storage case does not establish electrical compatibility, and a physically mating cable is not enough evidence for safe use.

13/17

What Should Be Confirmed Before Installing NOCO Products?

Read the exact NOCO manual before mounting or connecting the product, and confirm polarity, voltage, battery isolation, ventilation, cable routing, overcurrent protection, AC supply, environmental exposure, and service access.

  • Remove damaged batteries and diagnose leaks, swelling, freezing, or abnormal heat before charging or jumping.
  • Keep cables away from exhaust, moving parts, sharp edges, water traps, and pinch points.
  • Mount onboard chargers and battery boxes with the manufacturer-specified orientation and hardware.
  • Confirm shore-power or mains connection requirements before energizing an onboard charger.
  • Test each bank, mode, indicator, and connection with the system unloaded before relying on it.

14/17

How Should NOCO Chargers, Jump Starters, and Inflators Be Used Safely?

Use the exact NOCO procedure, wear appropriate eye and hand protection, keep ignition sources away from batteries, verify polarity and voltage, remain within the stated operating limits, and stop for heat, odor, swelling, damaged cables, abnormal indicators, or repeated faults.

  • Never use a jump starter or charger on an unsupported battery voltage or chemistry.
  • Treat manual override as a safety-disabled procedure, not a routine starting mode.
  • Do not leave charging or inflation equipment operating contrary to the manual’s supervision requirements.
  • Allow compressors to cool according to the exact duty-cycle instructions.
  • Disconnect in the stated order and store clamps, cables, and hoses so they cannot short or be damaged.

15/17

How Should NOCO Products Be Maintained and Supported?

Keep NOCO equipment charged, clean, dry, correctly stored, and inspected according to its exact support guide. Periodically examine clamps, eyelets, cables, connectors, cases, seals, mounts, hoses, fuses, and battery-box hardware.

  • Recharge portable lithium products at the interval and temperature stated by NOCO.
  • Clean and tighten battery connections only with power isolated and the correct procedure.
  • Replace damaged cables, clamps, hoses, seals, or enclosures with listed parts.
  • Review fault lights against the exact model support page instead of applying another model’s code.
  • Register and retain the serial number, receipt, user guide, and warranty information.

16/17

What Warranty Applies to NOCO Products?

NOCO warranty terms vary by exact product. The product support record and included warranty information must be checked for duration, registration, proof of purchase, exclusions, and the claim process.

NOCO’s support center directs owners to register products and access model-specific warranties and user guides. Do not transfer the warranty term from an onboard charger, jump starter, inflator, battery box, accessory, or another generation to the item being purchased.

17/17
